Hey little liars!
We are almost to the 600 hits mark! YAY! Anyways, here is the ‘Pretty Little Countdown’ recap for episode 1.6 “There’s No Place Like Homecoming” from the official Pretty Little Liars website!
ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars returns on June 14th–and, until then, you’re cordially invited to brush up on all the juicy season one drama with us. Today we recap “There’s No Place Like Homecoming.” (After watching this episode, you’ll wish there wasn’t!)
5 OMG Moments and The Big Ta-da from PLL Episode 106:
- The girls are discussing homecoming, but Spencer ruins the frivolous moment with stressful news. She informs them that Toby Cavanaugh purchased two tickets, which probably means that Jenna (suspect 1) will be attending. (Cover the punch bowl–a blind girl and quiet lad are on the loose!) She then gets a crazed look in her eye and demands that Hanna get her hands on Jenna’s psychotherapist files ASAP. (Yes, because stealing medical files is such a cinch.) Then, while sitting down for delicious Chinese takeout, the girls crack open their fortune cookies and discover…a note from A: “Lions and tigers and bitches oh my. There’s no place like homecoming…see you there.” (Way to ruin their appetite, A!)
- Aria goes stag but looks smashing. She doesn’t care though, because she’s there to have fun with her friends and help out with the carnival games. However, good deeds in Rosewood don’t get rewarded, as Aria realizes upon learning that she and Ezra will be working the same game booth. After an evening of fast-paced talking, hands-in-the-air throwing, and back and forths about their relationship, Aria ends things with Ezra and he agrees it’s for the best. (Gosh, dude, you’re not even going to try for one last kiss?)
- Melissa’s not too keen on Spencer these days. (Huh? You’re not cool with your little sister stealing your essay and kissing your fiance? Lighten up, lady!) In fact, she’s angry enough to stir up some trouble by telling Spencer’s date Alex that Spencer had invited him to homecoming just to get back at their father. Unfortunately, although it’s completely untrue, Alex gives Spencer attitude for the remainder of the dance. That’s not the worst of it–when she and Alex visit the psychic’s booth she places down a card that reads “Kiss Your BFF Goodbye.” (Oh for crying out loud–either A is a powerful, dark wizard or he/she has mad connections with the fortune reading community.)
- Hanna may have a teensy-weensy crush on Lucas. It began with Lucas refusing to partake in chastity club role play, where he’s supposed to resist Hanna’s advances. (Apparently, pretty blondes don’t get turned on by scrawny geeks, especially when they’re dating football studs.) If this abrupt honesty was a ploy to capture Hanna’s attention, it worked. She suddenly starts bantering with him and is touched when he shows up to the dance to snap yearbook photos and vote for her. We know that Hanna’s warming up to Lucas when she skips the homecoming coronation (yes, she and Sean win) to sneak into the psychotherapist’s office (for Jenna’s files) with him. (That Hanna…always multitasking.)
- Emily shows up to the dance with Toby. Everyone is shocked–especially Maya (who has no one to blame but herself because she said she was pretty much too good for school shin-digs). Regardless, Toby and Emily dance, joke and soon she feels comfortable enough to follow him to the secluded chem classroom. Now don’t get your hopes up–they do not makeout. Instead things get reaaaaal serious. He tries talking to her about the dreadful Ali summer, but Emily is receiving texts from Aria saying to stay away from Toby and she notices his tattoo “901 Free At Last” (Say…isn’t that when Alison disappeared?). No offense, Toby, but you’re looking guiltier than OJ at this point. Emily isn’t taking chances either and shoves him into the shelf behind him and starts running at top speed through the school. He chases her, and the last we see of Em is her falling. (Lesson learned: Always pack sensible shoes.)
Big Ta-da Moment: We could say that it was the hooded figure changing the Rosewood population sign in the outskirts of town, but truly it was discovering that Toby and Jenna were sexually involved. Stepbrother and stepsister going at it– a million times gross yo!
